CAIRO - 15 January 2018: The Cairo Symphony Orchestra has announced an upcoming orchestral concert entitled “Hits of American Films: The World of Crossovers (III)” in which the orchestra will perform songs from famous American films. The conductor will be Ahmed Atef and the concert is scheduled to take place on January 27.

The Sound of Egypt Orchestra performs live concerts of classical music as well as famous film scores. It was established in March 2013, and performed its first concert at the Cairo Opera House in September 2013.

Songs included in the set list are from a variety of composers and films, including: the “Jaws” title song, the “Harry Potter” theme songs, the “Jurassic Park” theme, and the choral from “Home Alone”, which were all originally written by John Williams, as well as songs from “The Dark Knight”, “Lawrence of Arabia”, “The Sound of Music”, among many others.

Ahmed Atef is the founder of the Sound of Egypt Orchestra as well as its principal conductor and director, he is an instructor at the High Institute of Arab Music, and a violinist for the Cairo Symphony Orchestra.
