CAIRO - 13 January 2018: Heliopolis Library will be hosting a discussion and signing of the book “Shadia’s Memories” led by Egyptian journalist and author Alaa Abdel Hady. “Shadia’s Memories” is written by Egyptian author, journalist and film critic Iris Nazmy.

The event aims to shed light on various significant stages of the artistic journey of the late prominent Egyptian star Shadia by discussing the cinematic, theatrical and musical works of Shadia, which are covered in the book.

Nazmy is president of the Alexandria Film Festival. She has participated in several festivals, including the establishment of the Cairo International Film Festival, Alexandria International Film Festival and Aswan's African States Film Festival. She is considered the first Egyptian woman to head a cinema festival. Nazmy was honored at the fourth National Festival of Egyptian Cinema.

Shadia was an Egyptian actress and singer who enchanted Arab audiences for decades. She was very well known for her playful voice and brilliant performance in numerous films, songs and plays.
