CAIRO – 12 December 2017: Hassaballah troupe will be performing a play “Hassaballah the 17th” at Hewar Foundation for Peoples Arts and Cultures at “Al Hakiba” theater, on Saturday, January 13.

Behind this idea is Entesar Abd elfattah, who is also the director of the project.
Hasaballah troupe, originally founded by Mohamed Hasaballah, is the oldest troupe in the Middle East. It is considered as a momentous icon and a fundamental part of the Egyptian heritage. The clarinet player is a significant figure in Egyptian history, used to bring cheerfulness through music.

Popular troupes across Egyptian cities, such as those in Menoufia, Mansoura and Kafr El Sheikh, among others, all play the same well-known music pieces, originally composed by Hassaballah.

As per Mohamed Ali Pasha’s command, the music composed by Hassaballah has been used by the Army and the police bands. Mohamed Ali also supplied the Army brass musical instruments that originated Egyptian remarkable melodies until now.
