CAIRO – 1 January 2018: The Egyptian court declared famous actress Ghada Abdel Razek innocent on Sunday of accusations of violating modesty.

Egyptian lawyer, Samir Sabry, filed a case accusing Abdel Razek of violating modesty after a live video was shared on her Instagram account on Saturday, July 1.

The video trended on Twitter, and became top in Google searches hours after it was shared.

The video showed Abdel Razek lying in bed while talking to her followers in a live video, where parts of her body appeared to be naked. Although the video was deleted from her account, parts and screenshots of the video were widely spread online.

Abdel Razek’s latest soap opera was "Ard Gaw" (Surface-to-air) that was aired in Ramadan 2017. It tells the story of a struggling air hostess who lives a normal and quiet life; until one day a problem arises, and turns her life upside down. Later, she decides to avenge herself, only to end up accused of hijacking a plane.

The series also features Mohamed Karim, Mourad Makram, Abdel Rahman Abou Zahra, Youssef Othamn and Ahmed el-Awady. Nahla Salama, Maha Abou Ouf, Ferial Youssef and Nadia Khairy play the female roles. "Ard Gaw" is written by Mohamed Abdel Moaty and directed by Mohamed Gomaa.

"Ard Gaw" achieved a booming success.
