CAIRO – 30 December 2017: Egyptian independent band, Arabish, will perform their first concert of 2018 on January 26 at El Sawy Culture wheel.

Inspired by the existing gap in expressing youths’ desired through music in Arab communities, the band uses songs to reflect on the soul and needs of Egyptian youths and the issues that they face.

Founded in 2015 by Wael Nasr, Arabish plays Arabic pop-rock music with the aim of inspiring cultural change and attracting attention to social problems facing Arab societies.

Its first album, ‘El Nharda Seheet Men El Noom’ (Today, I Woke Up), addressed issues facing women in Arab societies.

The band performed various concerts at El Sawy Culture Wheel, Bab 18 Art Space and the AUC Greek Campus.

Arabish consists of Wael Nasr on guitars, and oftentimes other instruments, alongside vocalists Zeina Elshazly, Habiba Zahran and Omar Elfarouk.
