CAIRO – 9 December 2017: Theatrical Professions Syndicate, chaired by Ashraf Zaki, issued a statement on Friday saying that the syndicate boycotts American movies in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

“Theatrical Professions Syndicate announces that because of its national responsibilities and Arab national constants, we completely rejects U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to transfer the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem, the capital of Palestine,” stated the syndicate.

The Syndicate added in its statement that “Trump’s decision is considered stark support to the Zionist entity that is raging against the Arab Islamic world and the Christian world as well, breaking all the resolutions of international legitimacy, and that it declares its full solidarity with our Palestinian brothers.”

“We are aware of the poisoned Zionist plan to be carried out by expelling our Palestinian brothers from their land to ease the establishment of the Israeli habitations and to settle the original inhabitants of the land in any nearby Arab desert after their apparent failure to approach one inch of Sinai because the Egyptian army confronted them courageously and patriotically, sacrificing our precious blood to protect Sinai.”

The syndicate ended its statement by calling all those working in the cinema industry to boycott American movies.
