CAIRO – 9 December 2017: FX and Sony Pictures have obtained the rights to adapt the wildly successful online podcast “Welcome to Night Vale” into a TV series, according to Deadline. The show will be adapted by Gennifer Hutchison, executive producer of “Breaking Bad” prequel/spinoff “Better Call Saul.”

“Welcome to Night Vale” is a twice-monthly podcast hosted by Cecil Baldwin. Set in the fictional desert town of Night Vale, where bizarre supernatural incidents are reported via community updates with a humorous style. The podcast was created by Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor, who will serve as executive producers for the TV series.

Harper Perennial will also publish script-books for seasons three and four of the podcast, which will include introductions by the cast and creators with illustrations from Jessica Hayworth.
