CAIRO – 13 November 2017: Famous Egyptian archeologist Zahi Hawass announced that the Giza Pyramids contain a lot of secrets that are not yet revealed. “(Scan Pyramids) team previously announced the existence of a big void in Khufu's Great Pyramid at Giza. This announcement is not new, nor a discovery,” Hawass said during the book signing ceremony of his latest book, “Giza and the Pyramids”, which he wrote with American archeologist Mark Lehner. The book signing ceremony took place at the American University in Cairo on Sunday.

Hawass added that the book reveals a lot of secrets about the Giza Pyramids and is considered to be an important added value to Egyptology. The book deals with all the issues related to the Giza Pyramids, from the exploration and the development , in addition to the latest theories and scientific studies on the pyramids, Hawass added.

Prominent Egyptologist Zahi Hawass has been awarded a prize by the European- Mediterranean Partnership on Sunday, granted for the first time to an Egyptian.

Hawass was honored and awarded for his role in spreading knowledge about Egyptian heritage across the world, including Europe and countries located around the Mediterranean Sea.

The prize is one of the high profile European awards that are given to calibers in the fields of arts and antiquities, among other fields.

Hawass is one of the most distinguished archaeologists worldwide and has many discoveries to his name. He is also the author of hundreds of books in different languages. His recent discoveries include the Tombs of the Pyramid Builders and the Valley of the Golden Mummies.

Among the important works of Hawass is that he headed the team that scanned King Tutankhamun’s mummy to unravel mysteries surrounding the lives and deaths of other acient Egyptian kings.
