CAIRO – 7 November 2017: The Dubai Film Market’s Enjaaz program, in association with Image Nation, has funded six filmmakers from the Gulf region, allowing them to develop their short films and perhaps receive international attention.

The Enjaaz initiative is part of the Dubai International Film Festival and was created in order to help fund local short filmmakers from the Gulf region, encouraging a greater diversity of Arab talents and short films. Since it started in 2009, the Enjaaz program has become a crucial part of the Dubai International Film Festival.

Amongst the six filmmakers chosen this year are; Ahmed Hassan Ahmed from the United Arab Emirates with "Wudu," Ali F. Mostafa from the UAE with "Alligator," Iraqi Noor al-Aradi with "Box," Hind al-Fahhad from Saudi Arabia with "The White Sheet," Hashim al-Ifari from Iraq with "4 Fourteen 24" and finally Saudi's Dayaa Yousef with "Son of Sidra."

The 14th edition of the Dubai International Film Festival will commence from December 6 until December 13, and will showcase well over 120 original films from the Arab world and beyond, promoting the spread of new talent and creativity.
