Plans for new opera house in Luxor

CAIRO – 29 October 2017: A Chinese delegation on Sunday discussed potential plans for establishing an opera house in Luxor to cater for cultural events in the governorate.

The governor of Luxor suggested several locations that would be suitable for the project, making it the most culturally progressive outlet in Upper Egypt, according to a statement on the state-run Egynews.

The new opera house is expected to be a replica and combination of the Cairo Opera House, Alexandria Opera House, Damanhour Opera House, and Mansoura Opera House.

The anticipated Luxor Opera House is expected to revive the flow of tourism in Luxor and other parts of Upper Egypt.
