CAIRO – 28 October 2017: The Egyptian embassy in Paris has managed to retrieve eight Egyptian antiquities, following a protocol that will be signed in October, according to a released statement on Saturday.

The antiquities were previously looted in January 2010 from a Gare Du Nord in Paris. The looters attempted to smuggle these antiquities by travelers travelling from Paris to London.

The French Culture Ministry is collaborating with the authorities in efforts to combat smuggling, according to the head of French Museums. They asserted that France plays a major role in receiving cultural heritage based on agreements signed with UNESCO in 1970.
