CAIRO – 24 October 2017: Sir Patrick Stewart will be honored at the 53rd Chicago Film Festival on Wednesday with the Gold Hugo Career Achievement Award to celebrate his diverse career.

The British actor is still active even at the ripe old age of 77, and is most famous for his roles such as Captain Picard in the “Star Trek” franchise and as Professor Xavier in the “X-Men” film series. This year alone he reprised his role as Xavier in the film “Logan” and voiced the poop emoji in the “Emoji Movie,” showing his humble sense of humor.

His extensive career ranges from drama to comedy to everything in-between. Stewart has been nominated for three Golden Globe awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards. Stewart emerged from a background in Shakespearean stage acting, to which his skills and diversity can be attributed.

Stewart was awarded the Gregory Peck Award for Excellence in Cinema by the San Diego International Film Festival on October 5.
