CAIRO – 19 October 2017: The antiquities unit at Badr City Customs thwarted a smuggling attempt of historical Porcelain pots to Lebanon.

The six porcelain pots date back to the 19th century; They are adorned with a number of plant and animal decorations.

A porcelain Vase, carrying paintings of plants and animals, was found with the artifacts.
The rest of the artifacts are a sugar container, and four porcelain plates. They were decorated with plantdrawings, and a portrait for a European lady.

Among the artifacts were two metal pots with four legs and two hands, carrying drawings for animals.

Ahmed al-Rawy, the head of the Central Administration for Antiquities’ unites in Ports, explained that the ministry confiscated the artifacts due to the protection of antiquities law 117 of 1983.
