Ashkal Festival to kick off at November 3

CAIRO – 15 October 2017: Ashkal Festival will kick off on November 3, whereby this year, the festival decided to host various cultural and musical styles to result in a fusion.

The Algerian independent singer Souad Massi is one of the participants in the festival.

Massi’s voice is one among the favorites of Arabic voices for Egyptians.

Tinariwen from Mali will come to Egypt to participate as well.

The Moroccan singer Oum will also share the stage with Massi and Tinariwen.
Oum is a singer who introduced the Saharan soul of Morocco on stage, she is known for her Moroccan style in singing and performing.

From Jordan, the impressive independent band El Morbaa3 will perform again in Egypt after performing in the Music Park Festival.

The talented Afro-Egyptian group “Hawidro” will perform at Ashkal too. They will introduce the African musical heritage, philosophy, and culture on stage in their style.

The international Palestinian Jordanian group 47Soul will perform at the festival as well. They are an electro Arabic Dabka band that formed in 2013, and it managed to attract many fans in the Middle East and Europe.

Finally, Dokkan is a rising experimental music project based in Cairo.
They have performed a number of concerts in many Egyptian cultural events.
