CAIRO – 10 October 2017: The AUC Press, in association with writing instructor Riham Adly, will hold the first meeting of Rose’s Cairo Book Club on Saturday November 4 at 2:00 p.m. at the American University in Cairo (AUC) Tahrir Bookstore.

The club will hold a monthly meeting to discuss myriad topics and to invite authors to address readers.

The book selected for the next month’s discussion is the novel “Embrace on Brooklyn Bridge” written by acclaimed Egyptian author Ezzedine C. Fishere.

The novel focuses on the ideas of loss and alienation, life in exile and the search for home, as well as how we construct and shift our identities.

Fishere is an acclaimed Egyptian writer, academic and diplomat. He has written numerous successful and bestselling novels and political articles for Arabic, English and French newspapers. He currently teaches at Dartmouth College in the U.S., where he lives.

Adly launched the Rose’s Cairo Book Club in 2016 “to encourage people to read and speak their minds through monthly book discussions,” she told Egypt Today.
