CAIRO – 1 October 2017: “Photocopy” won El Gouna Golden Star Award for Best Arabic Feature Narrative film.

“Photocopy” stars Mahmoud Hemeida, Shereen Reda, Farah Youssef, Aly Tayeb and Ahmed Dash. The movie was written by Haitham Dabour and directed by Tamer Ashry.

It narrates the story of an old man, who decided to head a photocopy shop after retirement.

He starts to think of the world around him, and the people he is surrounded with.

El Gouna Film Festival in its first edition was headed by the Iraqi critic Inteshal al-Tamimi with the slogan, “Cinema for Humanity." Emerging Arab and Egyptian filmmakers gear up to participate in the first anticipated edition of the GFF, which ran between September 22 and September 29 at El Gouna, Hurghada.

Displaying an array of works from around the globe, the festival aimed to promote rising filmmakers.
