CAIRO- 30 September 2017: The United Nations is celebrating International Translation Day for the first time this year, which it has designated to be September 30 each year.

The U.N. stated on its official Facebook page that the ceremony is an opportunity to pay tribute to the work of linguists who play an important role in building bridges of understanding between nations, as well as facilitating dialogue among them, in addition to contributing to development and promoting world peace and security.

The U.N. added that the translation process from one language to another is indispensable, and therefore professional translation, including correct translation and terminology, should be indispensable and interpreted to ensure clarity and more effective international public discourse and enhance communication between people.
