CAIRO – 28 September 2017: The Tunisian stage play, "Women in Love and Resistance," was one of the Arabic participant movies in the 29th CIFCET.

The play tells the story of a couple, and two ladies. The man lives a shattered life because he lost his love due to his extreme passion and commitment to theater, while the two ladies dream of revolution and resistance to have a new life.

It takes a deep look onto the reality of the life we are living; it also asks the question about who leads our thoughts and choices.

The play brings many classical myths on the stage again such as the myth of Faust who sold his soul to the devil.

It was produced by The Alternative Theatre group, directed by Fathy al-Akkary, and written by Mariam al-Akkary.

It starred Fathy al-Akkary, Mariam al-Akkary, Haifaa Bolkbash, and Mostafa al-Aakazy.

Fathy El Akkary is a Tunisian theater director, actor and author. He directed many stage plays such as “Shaaby Gedan,” (So Local) and he directed Lambs “Fawanees” film.

Cairo International Festival for Contemporary and Experimental Theater (CIFCET) is running between September 19 and September 29, featuring an array of interactive seminars, workshops and plays.
