CAIRO – 25 September 2017: Kyiv Chamber Orchestra will perform at Cairo Opera House in an impressive musical night ranging from classical music to oriental music on September 28.

The orchestra will be conducted by Ukrainian Harmen Makarenko, who was named by UNESCO the Artist of Peace.

The international flutist and Cairo Opera House director Enas Abdel-Dayem will participate with Kyiv Chamber Orchestra as a guest of honor.

A number of classics from many iconic composers such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Antonio Vivaldi, and Johann Sebastian Bach will be introduced.

The orchestra also will perform a number of Ukrainian folk music selections, in addition to Om Kalthom’s “Ana fy Entezarak” [I Am Waiting For You], composed by Zakria Ahmed, and “Hayart Aa’lby” [You Have Confused My Heart], composed by Riyad Al Sunbati.

“Gathering different nations is done mainly through culture and arts. Culture is the essential mirror that reflects civilization. Enhancing the Egyptian artistic position, Kyiv Chamber Orchestra will impressively combine the oriental scales with the symphonic epic and Ukrainian folk music,” according to a statement by the Cairo Opera House.

Kyiv Chamber Orchestra is one of the prominent and oldest Ukrainian orchestras.

It was founded in 1963, and has performed many successful concerts around the world in countries like Italy, France and Belgium.

Its repertoire contains a number of international compositions.
