Medrar to screen intercepts of the 8th Cairo Video Festival

CAIRO – 11 September 2017: A selected collection of archival visual production taken from the 8th Cairo Video Festival will screen under the title “In a Nutshell – 2” at Medrar in Garden City on September 14.

The intercepts that will be screened are from films that participated in the festival that includes; “East of Noon” by Nour Ouayda (Lebanon), “It is My Fault” by Sha Liu (China), “Tilt (Act I)” by Sama Waly (Egypt), “Capsule” by Simon Welch (France), “Atlas of the Wounded Buildings” by Thadeusz Tischbein (Germany), and “White Tides” by Marie Fages (France).

An international platform dedicated for video art, the Cairo Video Festival also focuses on experimental film. The 8th edition of the festival was launched last February, according to the event’s official page.

Cairo Video Festival seeks to create a conversation between video artists, curators, and audiences by providing an opportunity for artists to exhibit their innovative, often low-budget ideas, according to the festival’s official website.

Spanning over 10 days of screenings, the festival encourages new media production.
