CAIRO – 9 September 2017: Gemeza band will perform at Cairo Opera House on September 16.

Gemeza band was formed in 2003 by Nasser Elnoubi to revive the Egyptian heritage of music, and to keep it away from wasting.

Performing music away from commercial ones and composing new melodies from heritage music were also among the main reasons for creating Gemeza band.

The band consists of 12 members, which are Nasser Elnoubi on oud and vocals, Yam Swelm on vocals, in addition to 10 musicians for different instruments as guitars, rababah, oud, violin and keyboard.

The band performed a number of folk Egyptian music that is inherited, in addition to introducing the Egyptian folk taste in a modern style by mixing the folk music with flamenco music.

El Noubi is a tourist guide who speaks French and Spanish, he is also a poet and he published a poetry volume entitled "Mirror 100" [Mirayah Meya].

Many cultural acts hosted Gemezah as Cairo Opera House, El Gomhoreya Theatre, Sufi Café, British Council and El Sawy Culture wheel.
