CAIRO - 8 September 2017: The experts committee responsible for choosing the Egyptian film to compete in Oscars 2018 announced that it delayed the voting procedures to select the participating movie.

The committee postponed its decision to give its members a chance to watch Eid al Adha movies beside the films that are expected to be screened at the end of this month. The delay will help the committee give equal chances to all the movies screened this year, as one of the requirements of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences that grants the Oscars Awards.

The committee issued its decision after its meeting in the Supreme Council of Culture on Thursday, September 7. The Oscars management set September 30 as the deadline for sending the Oscar-nominated Egyptian film for the year 2018.

It is worth mentioning that Oscars awards ceremony for 2016 was held on February 26, 2017 at the Hollywood Dolby Theater in Los Angeles and were broadcast on the American ABC channel. It was presented by the famous American presenter Jimi Kimmel for the first time. La La Land movie won the greatest share of the awards after scoring 14 nominations, while Moon Light film won three awards.
