CAIRO – 7 September 2017: Jurassic World writer Colin Trevorrow has stepped down as director for the third installment in the newest legacy of the “Star Wars” franchise.

It is reported by the Associated Press that Trevorrow had left because of “creative differences” regarding the script and an “unmanageable” relationship with LucasFilm's chief Kathleen Kennedy.

A statement released on the official Star Wars website writes that "Lucasfilm and Colin Trevorrow have mutually chosen to part ways on “Star Wars: Episode IX”. Colin has been a wonderful collaborator throughout the development process but we have all come to the conclusion that our visions for the project differ. We wish Colin the best and will be sharing more information about the film soon."

This isn't the first time directors have been booted off on the latest wave of Star Wars installments; less than three months earlier, the planned directors for the planned Han Solo spinoff were also kicked off.
