CAIRO – 3 September 2017: Dr. Mostafa Wazerry, the director of Luxor Antiquates announced that the process of collecting and fixing the statue of Ramses II will commence after Eid El Adha vacation.

Fixing it should end by the beginning of next year to complete the facade of Luxor Temple.
Egyptian workers and archeologists will work on repairing the 12-meter statue which weighs 70 tons, and is made from black granite.

In April, another statue for Ramses II was recollected and fixed with Egyptian hands. The statue was back to its original site in Luxor Temple. It was unfortunately destroyed 1,600 years ago.
