CAIRO – 22 August 2017: The 10th edition of the International Samaa’ Festival for Spiritual Music and Chanting will be hosted by Egypt from September 20 to September 27.

Under the slogan of, “Message of Peace,” the annual festival is organized by the Cultural Development Fund in collaboration with Hewar Foundation for Peoples Arts and Cultures.

The purpose of the Festival is to set one place for dialogue of different cultures through spiritual music (Sufi) and chanting.

The activities of the event will take place at different cultural centers such as Al-Ghouri Palace or Al-Ghouri Dome (Qubbet El Ghouri]), and Salah El Din (Saladin) Citadel.

The story of the festival started with Entisar Abdelfattah who is an expert of culture and arts in the ministry of culture in 2008. He organized it for the first time in collaboration with Ministry of Culture and Cultural Development Fund.

In 2010, the event was developed to be an international festival.

The number of the participants increased to include more than 20 countries.

Last year, many African countries participated in the last editions as Ghana, Ethiopia and Sudan.

No updates are announced regarding this year participants.
