From Toshka’s Performance in Damnhour Opera House Folklore Festival 2016

CAIRO – 21 August 2017: The Egyptian band, Toshka for surrealist spontaneous art, will perform in the 18th edition of the Ismailia International Folklore Festival. It is directed by the Aswan Cultural Center.

Toshka was formed in 1996 in Upper Egypt. It introduces the Nubian heritage in different art forms such as dance and music.

Folk dances include styles such as Aragged, Nubian Ghazal, and Sudanese dances.

The band performed in different countries such as France, Sudan, Kuwait, Morocco and others, in addition to different festivals like the El Tahtib Festival in Luxor.

The band aims to document and keep the Nubian folk arts alive and promote it all over the world.

Ismailia International Folklore Festival kicked off August 20, it lasts for six days.
The festival has participants from 13 countries, including Arabic and foreign countries as South Africa, India, Sudan, Sri Lanka and Palestine.
