CAIRO- 17 August 2017: Italian-Egyptian singer Lara Scandar has released her new album, “Rock Around My Love”, in August, which is an Arabic twist on the infamous 1950s rock hit “Rock Around the Clock”.

Egyptian poet Amir Teima wrote the Arabic version of “Rock Around the Clock”, and Lebanese composer and music producer Jean-Marie Riachi redistributed the music. This is as a part of the project “Out of the Blue.”

Scandar said that she feels excited about the album, noting that this album marks her return to singing in Egyptian.

She marked the first star appearance for Riachi’s newest project, “Out of the Blue”.
“We have launched a new online music platform and workspace to cooperate with singers from the Arab world and create new distinctive voices from all music genres,” remarked Riachi.

Scandar is an Egyptian singer who was born in United States and then moved to Egypt as a child.
