CAIRO – 13 August 2017: The Minister of Culture Helmy al-Namnam inaugurated book fair in Saint Mark's Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Alexandria on Sunday, August 13, at 12 p.m.

The Ministry of Culture has inaugurated several book exhibitions during the last period.
For example, Namnam, Gharbiya Governor Ahmed Deif Sakr and Haitham al-Haj Ali, chairman of the Egyptian General Book Authority, opened the second Tanta Book Exhibition in al-Rafie Language School on Saturday, August 12, lasting to August 21.

Namnam has stood for a minute in silence to mourn the victims of Alexandria train before delivering a speech, in which he extended his greetings to Sakr and those who organized the exhibition.

Namnam has expressed his pleasure for establishing the fair in an educational institution as Tanta deserves to have an international book fair like Alexandria.

Sakr will allocate a large space to establish cultural center as the first edition of the fair has received a great success.

“Through culture, we will face terrorism as without education and culture ignorance will spread,” added Namnam.

The Ministry of Culture will face terrorism and extremism by raising awareness, stated Ali.
