HURGHADA - 6 Aug 2017: Minister of Antiquities Khaled el Anani said the Tourism Promotion Authority agreed on opening the Ottoman Citadel in Quseir city in southern the Red Sea to attract the tourism movement.

In statements on Sunday, Anani said Ottoman Citadel is a huge historic fortress which is located on the Red Sea coast and it is a symbol of both the Islamic and Pharaonic eras.

The citadel was build in 1799 during the era of Sultan Selim, ruler of Egypt during the 16th, century to protect the city against invaders and to safeguard the Egyptian borders
