CAIRO – 3 August 2017: Hollywood legend Tom Hanks is bringing his talents to the world of writing, and is set to read select samples from his debut book 'Uncommon Type: Some Stories' at Southbank Centre’s London Literature Festival, on November 1 of this year.

Known for a long and rich career in Hollywood, Tom Hanks has graced the silver screen for decades across a wide variety of genres; ranging from beloved classics such as Toy Story and Forrest Gump to thrilling dramas like Sully, and even as an action hero in The Da Vinci Code.

It is this range of experience within the human emotion and his gentle, honest nature that Hanks brings to his first book, which concerns various different stories all connected through typewriters.
