CAIRO – 2 August 2017: A recent book released this year by Bulgarian Professor Lyubomir Mikov provides a comprehensive look at 88 Ottoman-era mosques.

Titled 'Mosques and Masjids in Bulgaria,' the book examines monuments built from before the 20th century, compiling them in a study that focuses on two elements; the interior of the mosques and their architectural features such as decoration and composition.

As the Daily Sabah reports, Professor Mikov had spent almost two years of preparation for the book, carefully examining the details of each Mosque and Masjid.

By pointing out details in ancient buildings everyone regards as part of life, but never truly stops to examine, Professor Mikov's book helps bring a new level of understanding and respect for Islamic architecture and history.
