CAIRO - 26 July 2017: The Spanish award winning film, Volver, will be screening at

Magnolia Cinema

on July 31.

Volver is about a family consisting of Raimunda played by Penelope Cruz, her husband, their daughter Paula, played by Yohana Cobo, and Raimunda’s sister Sole, played by Lola Dueñas, who are residing in Madrid.

After their parents died in a tragic fire, Raimunda and Paula decided to go back to their home town La Manga. Upon arriving to their hometown, the girls start seeing their mother, Irene, again and that escalates to a strange sequence of events.

The film was written and directed by Pedro Almodóvar; one of the internationally recognized and admired Spanish filmmakers. Volver is noted by fans as one of Almodóvar’s best films winning over 15 awards including People’s Choice Award for Best European Film in 2006, European Film Award for Best Director in 2006, Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Screenplay in 2006, and Gopo for Best European Film in 2014 among many others.

Almodóvar have written and directed various films including his most recent movie Julieta which was debut in 2016. His other productions include I’m So Excited!, The Skin I Live In, and Broken Embraces.

The film screening at Magnolia Cinema will be free admission.
