CAIRO – 24 July 2017: Minister of Culture, Helmy Al Namnam and Dr. Inas Abdel-Dayem, head of the Opera House, have inaugurated the Summer Festival of the Opera House in Alexandria on Sunday July 23. The inauguration coincides with celebration of the 23 July Revolution anniversary.

A special inauguration at Sayed Darwish Theater in Alexandria was prepared that included day and night ceremonies.

The celebration started by presenting the spectacles of Disney Heroes, the play The Widow on the Beach of the Dreams, followed by Artistic shows for ballet students, and a show of Children Opera Choral in the Sayed Darwish Theater.

Selections of Walt Disney movie songs such; as Tarzan, The Lion King, Snow White, and The Pampered Widows will also be performed. The selections are played by pianist David Helz and performed in Arabic. These performances began at 8 pm and were attended by audiences of different ages.

Dr. Inas has launched Summer Festival of the Opera House in Cairo, Alexandria and Damanhour. There will be about 29 shows. Those shows will include eight in Darwish Theater, Alexandria, seven in Open Theater, four in Opera of Cairo, and 10 in Rome Theater in Alexandria. The festival began on July 20 and ends on August 11.

At the end of the celebration, the minister and the head of the Opera House congratulated the children for their wonderful artistic performances.
