CAIRO - 16 July 2017: Egyptian-Canadian actor Mena Massoud was chosen by the director Guy Ritchie to play the role of Aladdin in a movie bearing the same name; Power Rangers star Naomi Scott to perform the role of Jasmine and Will Smith will play the Genie. The movie shooting will start in August in London.

Massoud was born in Egypt to Egyptian parents, and raised in Canada; he previously performed in Open Heart series the role of Jared Malek. Massoud filmography contains 8 movies which are: What Happens Next, Americanistan, Let’s Rap, Ordinary Days, Masters in Crime, Final Exam, and both Aladdin and Strange But True are to be executed.
