Comedy/drama film Youth to be screened in Cairo

CAIRO- 14 JULY 2017: Magnolia cinema, Zamelek, will screen the film Youth, written and directed by Italian Paolo Sorrentino on Monday, July 17, from 7 p.m.

The comedy, drama, music and romance film released in 2015 was showed in Italy, France, UK and Switzerland in English, Spanish and Swiss German.

The film is about Fred, a composer and conductor, and Mike, an ageing movie director, holidaying in the Swiss Alps who face many struggles between life and death, youth and age, past and future as well as commitment and betrayal. Fred is retired while Mike is trying to finish the screenplay for what he considers as the most important film in his life.

Its heroes are Michael Caine (Fred), Harvey Keitel (Mike), Rachel Weisz (Lena) and Ed Stoppard (Julian).

The film was nominated for many awards such as the Academy Awardsin 2016; the Golden Globesin 2016; AARP Movies for Grownups Awards in 2016; Circuit Community Awards in 2015 and the Cannes Film Festival in 2015.

In addition, it won the European Film Awards in 2015, Film Club's The Lost Weekend in 2016, Golden Ciak Awards in 2015, Hollywood Film Award in 2015 and International Online Cinema Awards in 2016.
