CAIRO – 9 July 2017: El Kenz (The Treasure) is the latest movie directed by Sherif Arafa and written by Abdel Rahman Kamal, due for release later in 2017.

The administration of the Cairo International Film Festival, which will take place in the Opera House from November 21-30, have asked the makers of the movie to participate in the event.

Rumors are currently circulating that El Kenz is slated for the top spot and will open the world-famous film festival.

There is no doubt that El Kenz is the most suitable film to open the festival because the presentation of Egypt’s history lies at its core. The storyline spans the Pharonic, Abassid, Ottoman and modern period of the country, ending in the 1970s.

It is also directed by one of the most important directors in Egypt who is renowned for his captivating stories and good quality films.

The movie includes a dazzling cast of Egyptian superstars and actors such as Sawsan Badr, Mohy Ismail, Mohamed Saad, Mohamed Ramadan, Hend Sabry and Ahmed Rezk.
