1st stage of renovating Cairo Marriott Hotel inaugurated

CAIRO - 23 June 2017: Minister of Public Enterprise Sector Ashraf el Sharqawy opened the first stage of developing Cairo Marriott Hotel.

During an inspection tour of the hotel on Friday, the minister hailed the efforts exerted by the Egyptian General Co. For Tourism and Hotels (EGOTH) to renovate the hotel ahead of schedule.

The Marriott hotel renovation falls within the framework of the ministry's plan to upgrade the state-owned historical hotels.

The Chairperson of the Holding Company for Tourism and Hotels (HOTAC), Mervat Hataba, said the second stage of developing the hotel will be finalized by the end of 2017.

EGOTH Board Chairman Samir Hassan accompanied the minister during the inspection tour along with a number of the ministry's leaderships.
