CAIRO – 21 June 2017: The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) will study funding for new and renewable energy projects in Egypt, Minister of Finance Amr El-Garhy announced Tuesday.

While attending the annual AIIB meeting on South Korea’s island of Jeju, El-Garhy reviewed the main points of the social and economic reforms in Egypt.

"The AIIB praised the decisions taken by the Egyptian government towards reforming its fiscal policies," Garhy said.

Garhy was participating as Egypt’s Minister of Finance and the representative of non-Asian and non-European member states. He was invited to give the introductory speech at the meeting’s main session.
