CAIRO - 13 September 2019: Chairman of Rashid Petroleum (Rashpetco) and Burullus Gas Company Sabry El Sharkawy said drilling activities at the remaining six wells within the 9B phase of the West Delta Deep Marine (WDDM) concession project have been finalized.

He added the six wells are expected to produce 390 million cubic meters of natural gas per day in the first quarter of 2020, according to a statement by the Ministry of Petroleum on Friday.

He noted that the company in the short term succeeded in making best use of advanced technology during the 9B phase of well drilling activities and exploring deep layers at low investment cost.

The deep exploration within the 9B phase led to the discovery of gas-carrying layer in the Swan East well, which in turn contributed to adding around 67 cubic feet of recoverable natural gas resources to the production map, the statement quoted him as saying.
