CAIRO - 12 September 2019: Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek el Molla held talks here on Thursday with US Deputy Secretary of Energy Dan Brouillette on means of boosting bilateral ties in the oil field.

The two sides discussed current preparations to hold the East Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF) and its key role in strengthening cooperation among Eastern Mediterranean countries, as well as the possibility of making best use of natural gas resources in regional states, according to a statement by the Ministry of Petroleum.

They also reviewed the activities of American oil companies working in Egypt and their great part in increasing Egypt's crude oil and natural gas production rates, the statement added.

The pair tackled available opportunities to US companies for injecting further investments in the oil sector, especially with regard to research and exploration activities, the statement read.

Brouillette is here on a three-day visit after participating at the 24th World Energy Congress in Abu Dhabi.
