CAIRO – 2 July 2019: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended first trading session in July with a semi-collective rise, adding LE 957.18 million to market capitalization, amid Egyptian and foreign purchases.

Earlier, EGX and the Central Bank of Egypt announced Sunday, June 30, to be an official holiday in celebration of the anniversary of June 30 revolution, and Trading to be resumed on Tuesday, July 2.

The benchmark EGX 30 rose 0.25 percent, or 35.84 points, to close at 14,136.58 points.

The equally weighted index EGX 50 increased 0.33 percent, or 7 points, to close at 2,110.45 points, and the broader index EGX 100 inched up 0.05 percent, or 0.79 point, to 1,541.43 points.
On the other hand, the small and mid-cap index EGX 70 inched down 0.01 percent, or 0.04 points, to close at 603.52 points.

Market capitalization gained LE 957.18 million, recording LE 757.06 billion, compared to LE 756.11 billion in Thursday’s session.

The trading volume reached 217.89 million shares, traded through 19,974 transactions, with a turnover of LE 794.99 million.

Arab investors were net sellers at LE 97.72 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net buyers at LE 54.64 million, and LE 43.08 million, respectively.

Egyptian and Arab individuals were net sellers at LE 13.55 million, and LE 19.15 million, respectively, while foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 11.94 million.

Egyptian and foreign organizations bought at LE 68.19 million and LE 31.14 million, respectively, while Arab organizations sold at LE 78.56 million.

Orascom Investment Holding, El Nasr for Manufacturing Agricultural Crops, and Ismailia Development and Real Estate Co were top gainers of the session by 5.40 percent, 5.18 percent and 4.17 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, Modern Company for water proofing (Bitumode), Alexandria National Company for Financial Investment, and B Investments Holding were top losers of the session by 5.79 percent, 5.41 percent, and 4.94 percent, respectively.

EGX ended Thursday’s session in green for the second session in row, as EGX30 rose 0.67 percent, EGX50 hiked 1.46 percent, EGX70 climbed 0.29 percent, and EGX100 inched up 0.40 percent.
