CAIRO - 20 March 2019: Minister of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar said the ministry is seeking the help of international export agencies to promote Egyptian exports abroad especially the Small and Medium-Scale Enterprises (SMEs).

The minister's remarks were made during his participation in a symposium organized by the Egyptian-Canadian Business Council in cooperation with the Egyptian Business Council for International Cooperation under the title of "Industrial Development..Between Opportunities and Challenges".

Nassar also said a study is currently underway to establish a national company for promotion of Egyptian products in international markets, citing the experience of Japan in this regard with 97 percent of its economy depending on the micro and small-scale projects.

The minister asserted that the government is deeply interested in supporting any new programs to promote for increasing exports with special focus on beefing up the local industry and increasing the value-added tax.
