CAIRO - 28 February 2019: Around 50 buyers from different world countries have been invited to take part in the Egy Home Tex Expo, which kicked off on Thursday at Cairo International Convention & Exhibition Center, Chairman of the Textile Export Council (TEC) Magdi Tolba said.
This comes as part of the Trade Ministry's directives to develop industrial exports and provide the suitable climate for further opportunities of trade relations between exporters and their trading partners, Tolba added.
The four-day exhibition is the only show that sees holding bilateral working meetings, with the aim of reviewing chances of export, with regard to the products of upholstery, fabrics, curtains and other home furnishings, he noted.
The fair is meant to showcase manufacturing and export capabilities of high-quality fabrics with innovative designs, he said.
As for the textile exports, Tolba pointed out that Egypt's exports of textiles hit USD 899 million in 2018, an increase of 8% compared to 2017.
