CAIRO - 27 February 2019: Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) General Abdel Moniem el Trass discussed on Wednesday investment and cooperation aspects with Romanian Minister for Business Environment, Trade and Entrepreneurship Stefan Radu Oprea.

The Romanian minister arrived earlier in Cairo at the head of a delegation to review means of boosting industrial cooperation under Romania's current chairmanship of the EU and Egypt's presidency of the African Union (AU).

The two sides signed a cooperation deal covering many areas including auto industry, oil and gas pumps, railway projects, electric elevators, digitization of services, medical facilities and smart systems.

The AOI chief called for resuming the manufacturing of Romanian agricultural tractors, supporting them with new features and exploring the possibility of manufacturing them in Egypt.

The Romanian ambassador in Cairo attended the meeting along with representatives from major Romanian companies involved in the energy, electronics and digitization industry.

Oprea stressed his country's keenness to share knowledge and expertise and work on joint industrialization projects in light of the investment-friendly atmosphere in Egypt.
