CAIRO – 5 June 2017: Egyptian businessman Naguib Sawiris on Monday urged Egyptian investors to withdraw their investments from Qatar in the wake of Cairo’s announcement to cut its diplomatic ties with the Gulf country.

In statements to Egypt Today, the business tycoon also called on Egyptian nationals working in Qatar to return to Egypt, saying they should sacrifice any money that comes from those conspiring against all of us.

On that score, he called for providing a suitable climate for investments in Egypt in order to help make it a good alternative for investments.

Meanwhile, Sawiris described the decision taken by Egypt, alongside several other Arab countries, to cut diplomatic ties with Qatar “late.”

Egypt has paid the price of Qatar-funded terrorism, he said, calling on Arab countries to continue in their unified stance toward Qatar.
