CAIRO - 21 February 2019: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended last session of the week in red, and market capitalization lost LE 3.29 billion, amid foreign selling.

The benchmark EGX30 declined 0.44 percent, or 66.83 points, to close at 15,146.71 points.

The equally weighted index EGX50 lessened 0.39 percent, or 9.55 points, to reach 2,469.79 points.

Meanwhile, the small and mid-cap index EGX70 decreased 0.35 percent, or 2.5 points, to 717.16 points, and the broader index EGX100 dropped 0.38 percent, or 6.97 points, to close at 1,811.62 points.

Market capitalization lost LE 3.29 billion, recording LE 836.26 billion, compared to LE 839.55 billion in Wednesday’s session.

The trading volume reached 239.3 million shares, traded through 28,068 transactions, with a turnover of LE 989.44 million.

Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 23.61 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 2.7 million and LE 20.88 million, respectively.

Egyptian individuals were net sellers at LE 1.41 million, while Arab and foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 8.32 million, and LE 1.4 million, respectively.

Foreign organizations sold at LE 25 million, while Egyptians and Arab organizations bought at LE 4.14 million, and LE 12.56 million, respectively.

Lecico Egypt, El Orouba Securities Brokerage, and GMC Group for Industrial Commercial& Financial Investments were top gainers of the session by 9.19 percent, 8.70 percent and 5.65 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, Assiut Islamic Trading, Al Tawfeek Leasing Company-A.T.LEASE, and Dice Sport & Casual Wear were top losers of the session by 4.37 percent, 4.17 percent, and 3.80 percent, respectively.

EGX ended Wednesday’s session on mixed performance, as EGX30 rose 0.38 percent, EGX50 hiked 1.39 percent, while EGX70 dropped 0.31 percent and EGX100 decreased 0.21 percent.
