CAIRO - 16 January 2019: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) continued its mixed performance for the second session in row during Wednesday’s session and market capitalization lost LE950.96 million, amid Arab and foreign selling.

The benchmark EGX30 hiked 0.47 percent, or 63.15 points, to close at 13,510.27 points.

On the other hand, the equally weighted index EGX50 dipped 0.23 percent, or 5.13 points, to reach 2,199.44 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 lessened 0.10 percent, or 0.69 points, reaching 674.75 points, and the broader index EGX100 inched down 0.09 percent, or 1.5 points, to close at 1,701.14 points.

Market capitalization lost LE 950.96 million, recording LE 763.84 billion, compared to LE 764.79 billion in Tuesday’s session.

The trading volume reached 230.12 million shares, traded through 25,760 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1 billion.

Egyptian investors were net buyers at LE 96.27 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 36.84 million and LE 59.43 million, respectively.

Egyptian, Arab and foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 45.96 million, LE 8.97 million and LE 550,037, respectively.

Arab and foreign organizations sold at LE 45.81 and LE 59.98 million, respectively, while Egyptian organizations bought LE 50.9 million.

October Pharma, Dice Sport & Casual Wear, and El Nasr For Manufacturing Agricultural Crops were top gainers of the session by 9.64 percent, 6.33 percent and 5.05 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, Misr National Steel - Ataqa, Gulf Canadian Real Estate Investment Co. and El Arabia for Land Reclamation were top losers of the session by 9.13 percent, 5.98 percent, and 5.38 percent, respectively.

EGX ended Tuesday’s session on mixed note, as EGX30 rose 0.84 percent, EGX50 increased 0.47 percent, while EGX70 inched down 1.47 percent, and EGX100 went down 0.1.06 percent.
