European, African states sign 2 deals on SMEs, free trade

VIENNA - 19 December 2018: Representatives of European and African countries participating in the Africa–Europe High Level Forum in Vienna will sign two cooperation agreements, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) has learnt.

The first agreement includes an investment program for backing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), into which the European Commission will pump about €75 million.

The second deal focuses on supporting the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) with about €50 million.

During the event, African and European leaders have asserted the necessity of cementing economic partnership and investments between the two sides.
