Egypt's production index for transformative, extractive industries up in September

CAIRO - 28 November 2018: Egypt’s production index for transformative and extractive industries, excluding crude oil and petroleum products, recorded 131.22 during September 2018 against 126.97 a month earlier with a rise of 3.3 percent, said the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) on Wednesday.

The production index of ready-to-wear clothes declined to 210.35 in September, down 14.6 percent from 246.33 for August, the report said.

The index of pharmaceutical and chemical products registered 164.75 in September compared with 144.29 in August, at a 14.2 percent uptick.

The total index for the manufacture of computers and electronic devices reached 183.08, down by 21.4 % from 232.86 for August, CAPMAS reported.
