CAIRO – 25 November 2018: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Sunday in red, losing LE 18.34 billion of market capitalization, amid organizations selling.

The benchmark EGX30 declined 3.82 percent, or 521.82 points, to close at 13,153.55 points.

The equally weighted index EGX50 lessened 2.72 percent, or 60.76 points, to reach 2,170.54 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 inched down 0.92 percent, or 6.34 points, reaching 681.1 points, and the broader index EGX100 decreased 1.28 percent, or 22.06 points, to close at 1,701.85 points.


Market capitalization lost LE 18.34 billion, recording LE 745.31 billion, compared to LE 763.64 billion in Thursday’s session.

The trading volume reached 205.39 million shares, traded through 26,634 transactions, with a turnover of LE 795.23 million.

Egyptian investors were net buyers at LE 31.19 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 18.44 and LE 12.75 million, respectively.

Egyptian and Arab individuals were net buyers at LE 81.84 million, and LE 14.65 million, respectively, while foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 3.39 million.

Egyptian, Arab and foreign organizations sold at LE 50.64 million, LE 33.09 million and LE 9.35 million, respectively.

Arab Co. for Asset Management and Development, Mansourah Poultry, and Torah Cement were top gainers of the session by 7.60 percent, 7.18 percent and 6.93 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, Middle Egypt Flour Mills, ZahraaMaadi Investment & Development, and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank- Egypt were top losers of the session by 14.45 percent, 9.11 percent, and 8.28 percent, respectively.

EGX ended Thursday’s session on mixed note, as EGX 30 lessened 0.41 percent, EGX70 declined 0.13 percent, and EGX100 inched down 0.21 percent, while EGX50 went up 0.06 percent.
